Website Privacy Policy

About this policy

Peach Property is a trading name of OwnHome Real Estate Pty Ltd (ACN 665 453 074) ("we", "us", "our"), part of the OwnHome group. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information, and how you can access or correct it or make a complaint. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Scope of this policy

This policy applies to personal information collected by OwnHome Real Estate Pty Ltd trading as Peach Property in connection with our real estate and property-related services, including through our website, calculators, tools, marketing campaigns, and interactions with our partner brokers and service providers.

Other entities in the OwnHome group, including the OwnHome lending business, operate under their own privacy policies. If you have provided information to another OwnHome group entity, that entity's privacy policy will also apply to that information.

Where it is lawful and practicable, you have the option of dealing with us anonymously or by using a pseudonym—for example, when browsing our website or using our calculators without submitting a form. Some of our services (such as responding to an enquiry or connecting you with a broker) will not be possible without the information needed to provide them.

Kinds of personal information we collect

The kinds of personal information we collect depend on how you interact with us. Typically this includes:
  • Contact details — name, email address, mobile or other phone number, postal address
  • Property and preference information — locations, property types, budget, intended use (e.g. owner-occupier, investor), and information you enter into our calculators or tools
  • Interaction information — your enquiries, the pages you visit on our website, the marketing communications you open or click, and your responses to our campaigns
  • Broker referral information — if you are referred to us by a partner broker, the details that broker shares with us about you in connection with that referral
  • Identity information — where reasonably necessary to verify your identity, for example before responding to a request to access or correct your personal information
We will not collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)) about you without your consent, except where permitted or required by law.

How we collect personal information

We collect personal information in several ways, including:
  • Directly from you, when you fill in a form on our website, use one of our calculators or tools, contact us, or interact with our marketing
  • From our partner brokers and referral partners, where you have engaged with them about Peach Property's services
  • From other entities in the OwnHome group
  • From service providers we engage to provide marketing, analytics, hosting, customer relationship management (CRM) and similar services
  • From publicly available sources, such as property listing platforms, where relevant to providing our services
  • Comply with our legal obligations
Where it is reasonable and practicable to do so, we collect personal information directly from you. If we collect your information from a third party, we will take reasonable steps to make sure you are aware of the collection and how to find this policy.

Why we collect personal information

We collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information for purposes including:
  • Providing you with property-related services, information and recommendations
  • Sending you results, content or follow-up from a calculator, tool, form or enquiry you have submitted
  • Marketing OwnHome and Peach Property products and services to you
  • Connecting you with partner brokers or other service providers where you have asked us to, or where it is consistent with the service you are seeking
  • Operating, maintaining and improving our website, calculators, tools and other services
Understanding our customers and how our services are used (including aggregated analytics)
  • Understanding our customers and how our services are used (including aggregated analytics)
  • Complying with our legal and regulatory obligations
  • Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims
If you do not provide us with the personal information we ask for, we may not be able to provide some or all of our services to you, or follow up on a request you have made.

Who we disclose your personal information to

We may disclose your personal information to:
  • Other entities in the OwnHome group — including for the purposes of group-wide marketing, service delivery and shared back-office functions
  • Partner brokers and referral partners — where you have asked to be connected with a broker, or where this is consistent with the service you are seeking
  • Service providers — including providers of website hosting, CRM, email and SMS delivery, analytics, marketing automation, cloud storage, IT support, and professional services (such as lawyers and accountants)
  • Government agencies, regulators and law enforcement — where we are required or authorised to do so by law

How we use your personal information

We use personal information only for the purposes set out in this policy, for related purposes you would reasonably expect, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. If we want to use your personal information for a purpose that is not covered by this policy or that you would not reasonably expect, we will ask for your consent.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers may store or process personal information outside Australia. Because the locations of our service providers can change over time and span multiple jurisdictions, it is not always practicable to specify in this policy every country in which they may be located.

Before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle that information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Marketing communications

We may send you marketing communications about OwnHome and Peach Property products and services by email, SMS, push notification, post, or telephone. We will only do so where you have consented (including through your interactions with our website and forms) or where we are otherwise permitted to under applicable law, including the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 (Cth).

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time:
  • Email — click the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email
  • SMS — reply STOP to any marketing SMS
  • All channels — contact us using the details in section 17
Opting out of marketing does not stop us from contacting you about a service or enquiry you have specifically asked us about.

Cookies and website tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to help the site function, remember your preferences, measure how the site is used, and deliver relevant marketing. The types of cookies we use include essential cookies, analytics cookies and marketing/advertising cookies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our website.
  • to allocate a unique number to your internet browsers;
  • to customise our website for you;
  • for statistical purposes;
  • to identify if you have accessed a Third Party Website; and
  • for security purposes.

How we store and protect your information

We store personal information in secure systems operated by us and by our service providers, including cloud-based systems. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

If we become aware of an eligible data breach involving your personal information, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

How long we keep your information

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy, or for as long as we are required to keep it under applicable law. When we no longer need personal information, we will take reasonable steps to destroy it or to permanently de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You have the right to ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if you think it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.

To make a request, contact us using the details in section 17. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within a reasonable period.

There may be circumstances where we are entitled to refuse a request — for example, where giving access would have an unreasonable impact on the privacy of others, or where it would be unlawful for us to give access. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing.

Making a complaint

If you think we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or otherwise mishandled your personal information, please contact us using the details in section 17. Please describe your complaint with as much detail as you can.We will acknowledge and investigate your complaint within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):

Children's personal information

Our services are not directed at children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can review the matter.

Automated decisions

We do not use computer programs to make decisions about you that significantly affect your rights or interests. Our calculators and tools are designed to help you explore your own options — for example, estimating how much you might be able to spend on a property based on the information you enter. The results are for your information only; any decision about whether to buy a property, take out a loan, or engage a broker remains yours to make.

From 10 December 2026, Australian Privacy Principle 1.7 requires entities that use computer programs to make decisions significantly affecting individuals' rights or interests to disclose that use in their privacy policy. Because our calculators are informational tools that support your own decision-making, rather than automated decisions made by us, APP 1.7 does not apply to Peach Property. If this changes, we will update this policy to describe the kinds of decisions made, the personal information used, and the role of human review.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on our website, and the "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was most recently revised. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
